The grounds and beach are stunning, and East Winds made a fantastic place for celebrating my wife’s 30th birthday with her parents. We stayed in spacious deluxe cottages, well equipped and with interesting interiors, a very comfortable super king bed and a patio where we watched hummingbirds. The resort is peaceful and elegant, with a lovely atmosphere and live music including a steel pan band. It’s not a party resort. The tropical garden feels authentically Caribbean, with beautiful plants, trees and wildlife. The beach is spacious and natural, with plenty of comfortable sunbeds. At the restaurant, the sea view and sound of waves made meals tranquil. Food was varied, fresh and healthy. The four course dinners didn’t feel stuffy or too much, and the waiters went above and beyond for us. We loved the homemade ice cream of the day, fresh mango and beach BBQs. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the fresh pancakes chef Germaine made for me. The drinks menu was varied too. All the wait staff were amazing and friendly. The activities made good use of the grounds and came alive through the passionate staff. Head gardener Sylvanus gave a very informative garden tour that my in-laws really enjoyed. Nikita tailored the Pilates classes to everyone in our group, keeping them challenging across different levels and enjoyable. The paid boat tour was a highlight too, great value and a chance to see one side of the island and the glorious Pitons. Watersports staff Joe and Devon were always ready to take us out on a hobbycat or get us set up with a kayak. Everything felt safe and efficiently run. A few small improvements could make an already great hotel even better. A more substantial gym would help, even just a treadmill, bike and more weights in the yoga area. A mosquito net over the beds would offer extra protection alongside the sprays and candles the hotel provides. Better tea bags than Twinnings would suit the hotel’s sophistication, and a price list in the boutique would be helpful. The friendly staff made us feel welcome from the start and went above and beyond to make our stay special. I highly recommend East Winds.

They gave my wife special care because of her food allergies, making sure what she was served was safe for her and still delicious. Each guest gets personal attention. We had an amazing experience and will definitely return.

The small, 30 room hotel sits right on the beach among lovely gardens. High seas got into the bar, restaurant and beach areas at the start, causing some flooding. This wasn’t new to the team, and everyone handled it seamlessly, from the restaurant and bar staff to maintenance, gardeners and management. My only slight gripe is that rock outcrops intrude into the beach and limit swimming space. There’s also a sand shelf just offshore, so when the sea is a bit rough, getting out can mean a frequent barrel roll up and back down. Lots of repeat guests, some of whom have returned over 30 times.

The people were the best thing about East Winds. We’ve never felt so welcomed at a hotel. Every staff member was lovely, warm and friendly, and our stay wouldn’t have been as amazing without them. We met lots of repeat guests, and now we hope to return soon ourselves. We came back recently from a week at the resort, chosen because of its excellent reviews, which we can only echo after staying there. It’s a special, beautiful and serene place, set in a tropical garden full of plants, trees and wildlife. A mango tree stood outside our cottage, and we saw hummingbirds around the terrace every day. The rooms are lovely, beautifully decorated and spacious, with a big comfy bed and a fully stocked fridge with soft drinks, beers and wines. The resort is gorgeous, with great pool and beach areas and plenty of sunloungers, so there’s always a good spot. Food and drinks were a highlight. Breakfast and lunch buffets were varied and delicious. I had chocolate mousse almost every lunchtime because it was so good. Dinners were more formal, with a four course menu each night. The dishes were high quality, and we left every meal full and happy. Cocktails were tasty, dinner came with a great choice of wines, and the rum tasting session was really fun.

The staff were at the heart of this stay, from the restaurant and bar, spa, beach watersports and reception to security, the ‘good vibes’ excursion organiser and managing director. The service, facilities and excursions were incredible, and the hotel clearly has good connections across the island. We saw lots of dolphins on one of the trips, which was awesome. Thanks East Winds, simply the best. My wife, our two children and I have never felt so welcomed at a hotel. The team were genuinely happy to have our children there, and the setting and excursions were child friendly. Before we arrived I wondered whether it would feel too focused on adults, but that worry disappeared straight away. East Winds is a special place, a tropical paradise with lush gardens around the accommodations that flow into a beach with beautiful turquoise and emerald water. It’s relaxing, easy to navigate and all on one level. The restaurant was gorgeous and the food delicious. The decor is individual and interesting, matching the setting’s vibrancy and peacefulness. The facilities and service made this by far the best hotel my family and I have stayed at. Having seen Jade Mountain and Sugar Beach resorts, this tops them both, especially since the layout is so easy that you simply don’t need butler service.
