Hotel Chez Marie Alish

The atmosphere was lovely and my husband and I had a great time. We liked hearing the steel pan players practice across the street in the party shed, though some other guests apparently found it noisy. Rodney Bay, Gros Islet and the beach are within walking distance, and the van route made trips into town easy. The staff were nice and helpful. A little freshening up would help, maybe a different color for the apartment. The mattress needs replacing, and some of the listed amenities were misleading.

In the mornings, you can cross the street for fresh fruit from vendors, and there are nice local places to eat just down the road in the evening. Take some time to explore on foot. The hotel is in a neighborhood just off a major road, with a small grocery and gas station within walking distance and downtown Gros Islet about 15 minutes away. The people are friendly, the wifi was strong, and I’d certainly return.

The owners are a very friendly couple, and the rooms are nice with a kitchen for cooking. I did hear some road noise and noise from other residents. The price is really affordable, and their service and hospitality were the best I experienced during my whole stay at St. Lucia.

It’s older, but functional and clean. The fridge wouldn’t stay shut. My main issue was being charged per person: with five of us, it cost more than several nicer options we could have chosen. The price online was less than half of what we were charged.
