Hotel Oberland

For €250 a night, this felt like a minimum offering wrapped in luxury. The experience fell far below what I expected, and I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. Breakfast was the main disappointment: the buffet had only half a tomato and half a bell pepper, and you had to explicitly ask for hot food such as eggs. The hotel is also beside a busy mountain road, which made it noisy. The location can't be changed, but breakfast could be much better. At this price, the cost-cutting felt extreme and the value was very poor.

The breakfast room is cosy, and you can use it to relax or bring your dinner. Free coffee, tea, milk, and hot chocolate are available all day, along with an honesty bar. Very handy with kids, or if you just want a break with a view and a nice atmosphere. The hotel is lovely and cosy, with a great view. The bus stops right in front and reaches Malbun Zentrum in 16 minutes, which is great for skiing and leaving the car in the hotel car park. I highly recommend it.

We stayed here when it was still called the Martha Bühler and had a great time. The rooms were beautifully maintained, and we'd love to return on our next visit. Getting there means a dramatic drive up from Vaduz to this mountaintop hotel.

For breakfast, I especially liked the bread and all the things to put on it, including cheese, cold cuts, and spreads. The service there was friendly and helpful. Apart from breakfast, though, everything is self-service, including check-in. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and decent, and this is one of the more reasonably priced places to stay in Liechtenstein. Whether the location works depends on why you're visiting.
