The family would bring us tea, fruit, and little treats now and then, and they were so helpful and kind. It’s a 10-15 minute walk to the main road, but it’s a lovely route through a village where people are really friendly. My room was clean and spacious, and the kitchen had what I needed apart from a frying pan. It’s not the fanciest place, but as a 20-year-old solo traveler I had a great stay. I’d come back if I return to Sri Lanka :)
You’re about a 12 minute walk from the main road, which makes it easy to see a bit of village life if you don’t mind walking. The rooms are basic but pleasant, with everything you need supplied. The family were lovely and helpful, and did their best to make the place feel like home.
I stayed for three weeks and loved it. The village families nearby are so caring, and they looked after me the whole time. The beach is only a 5-10 minute walk away. I’d happily stay here again anytime.
My brother and I had a really nice stay in both rooms at Guruge Guest house. They were clean and the beds were comfortable. One room has a kitchenette and a second door for access. The family are welcoming and lovely, and I’d recommend the place. Free wifi was good, and it felt like good value. It’s around a 10 minute walk to the main road by Kabalana beach.
Such nice people and a really nice place. I definitely recommend this guest house, and I’ll come back if I’m in the area!
