Kurundu Villa

My favorite part was the infinity pool overlooking the padi (rice) field. I swam in the morning and evening under clear blue skies, surrounded by nature. Now and then buffaloes and their farmer passed through, with egrets, peacocks, and sometimes colorful birds that left me amazed. The view felt untouched. I spent hours lounging by the pool or on the porch with a book and a drink, enjoying the cool breeze and quiet. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast each morning was a treat: fresh local fruit, toast, freshly squeezed or blended juice, coffee or tea, and my favorite, curd with treacle. Housekeeping was prompt during the day. In the evening we either chatted over a drink or two at the mini bar or settled into the living area. The kitchenette would be a real plus for guests wanting to make simple meals, and free Wi-Fi kept me in touch with family back home. Kurundu Villa also made a lovely first impression when we arrived from Singapore. They welcomed us with cold towels scented with cinnamon and spices, and the villa manager and staff quickly carried our luggage to our rooms. We felt relaxed and cared for from the start. I'd call it a home away from home. Definitely recommended :)
