Ocean Crest

The balcony view was a highlight, making our mornings especially nice. Our group of three adults and a toddler stayed at Surf Station Hotel last week, and the room was spacious and comfortable for all of us. Breakfast was delicious and nicely prepared, a great way to start the day. It was a memorable, relaxing stay, and we’d gladly recommend Surf Station Hotel.

The place itself is nice and cozy, with a spacious room and well-built rooms overall. But there are some things to keep in mind: no hair dryer, no soap or other items in the shower rooms, and only a few charging ports, not very close to the bed. There’s no parking either. Our breakfast arrived without coffee at first, and when it came, it was diluted. The staff seemed poorly trained and didn’t treat guests well. We were also woken by their loud conversation. It’s a shame, because the facilities are quite nice, but the staff managing the hotel were not well mannered.

We had a great stay. The room was spacious and looked out to the sea, the pool was kept very clean, and the staff were friendly. We had no trouble communicating with them in English. Breakfast was decent, with bread, eggs, fruit, tea, and coffee. There’s a small gate at one end of the hotel that leads to the beach. It isn’t very big, but there’s enough room to walk and have fun. There aren’t many food options nearby, so you need to go at least 1 km toward town for more restaurants. Since the sea is so close, the mist kept the poolside and balcony chairs wet.

The beachside location is good, and the staff were genuinely friendly. My bed was comfortable, the sheets seemed clean, and the AC worked. But the place felt neglected and shabby for the price. The door handle was coming loose, the curtains were dirty, the bathroom blind was falling apart, water pressure was low, and the terrace light didn't work. One rattan chair had a hole, and the hallway was being used to store spare mattresses and other things. Breakfast was fruit and eggs with very stale supermarket white bread, margarine, low-quality jam, and awful coffee that left thick brown sludge in the cup. In season, it seems to mainly host groups of Israelis and Russians who book the whole place. It is Israeli-owned.
