Villa Alba

The room was spacious and bright, and we loved how clean, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed the villa felt. With just a few rooms, it had a private feel, while the surrounding nature gave the place a lovely atmosphere. Peacocks sometimes woke us in the morning, but it didn’t bother us, it added something unique to the stay. Breakfast was good, and the food we ordered during the day was delicious. One of our best experiences, and we’d definitely come back.

The team made us feel completely at ease. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming, and clearly took good care of both the guests and the place. Breakfast was fantastic too, with a generous choice of fresh, high-quality Sri Lankan food. We stayed in the king room and loved the spacious layout, outdoor bathroom, and balcony views. The place is thoughtfully designed and sits harmoniously among the rice fields, about a 15-minute scooter ride from downtown. From every room we could spot birds and monkeys in the trees, and the rice terrace views from the pool and rooms were stunning. The pool and dining area are beautiful, and the attention to detail is evident throughout. One of the best places we’ve stayed. We’d gladly return if we get the chance. Thank you to the whole team for making it so special.

The silence was remarkable. We didn’t hear a single man-made sound during our stay, just birds in the morning and mellow music from the sound system in the evening. The pool was always just right for a refreshing swim, whatever the hour. Every meal was delicious and beautifully presented. Our bedroom was spacious and very comfortable, with an inspiring outdoor bathroom and a mirror hanging from the ceiling against a lush garden backdrop. Villa Alba is gorgeous, a real design masterpiece where the materials, furnishings, and angles all work beautifully together :)

They arranged lovely decorations and a cake for my husband’s birthday, just as I’d requested. The staff were very friendly and kind. We’re so glad we chose this beautiful villa for our holiday. The room was spacious, the architecture impressive, and all the plants added to the calm, natural feel. The pool was gorgeous too. As a local, I’d suggest adding some Sri Lankan dishes to the menu.
