Patrick and Chaturanga were courteous, helpful, and took care of our laundry as part of the included services. My wife and I stayed in the Ameesha Lodge family suite for about 25 days, from Aug to Sept 2017. The room, kitchen, and toilet were roomy and well equipped, and we thought it was good value. The place was clean, orderly, and away from traffic noise. WiFi, A/C, and the solar hot water worked well. When the hot water system failed, a technician came within a few hours. We were very happy with the stay and location. The short access road is in poor condition and urgently needs upgrading, though, and a low clearance car might not suit it.

The road in is broken and very difficult to drive. Local taxi drivers say no as soon as we mention the place, and people unfamiliar with it can’t find it even with Google map. We only stayed because everywhere else was booked. Patric was kind and gave good service if you were lucky enough to meet him, but the other man never smiled and acted as if we’d invaded his home. The owner lives in UK, calls himself a doctor, and seemed very inhuman. He advised giving rooms to people asking for a long stay even when the room was already booked. The rooms are good, but when something goes wrong, things move very, very slowly. There’s no restaurant. I wanted to book with an initial payment for 09th to 13th, then again from 16th to 20th. They asked what they should do if someone wanted a room between 13th and 16th, and said they couldn’t guarantee reserving one for us. NOT RECOMMENDING.

We chose this hotel for a 31st night party. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the place was calm and well maintained. Prices were reasonable.

A quiet, safe-feeling spot near the city and close to Jayawardanapura hospital. There’s a good view of the newly constructed lake and jogging track.
