Zapo Villa

That huge palm-filled garden, the swimming pool you can actually swim in, and the almost deserted beach right in front made Zapo Villa feel like a peaceful paradise. We spent 16 days there and honestly felt even better than at home. We don’t understand the negative reviews. Our room was cozy, well kept, and had everything we needed: air conditioning, a comfortable bed, a wardrobe, and a kettle. We could also use the villa kitchen, which made things feel even more like home. Cyril invited us to lunch at his house with his wife and brother. They were genuinely kind and welcoming, and made us feel like family. The owner has adopted nine dogs. They were all sweet and never aggressive, and we got attached to them too. Saying goodbye was really hard. We can’t put into words how good we felt there. If we return to Sri Lanka, Zapo Villa will definitely be a must-stop. Thank you, CYRIL and ANIL 🙏🏻🤩

The room wasn’t properly cleaned, and the staff didn’t respond when we asked for help. The facilities also looked run down compared with the online photos. I stayed at Zapo Resort last week, and for what we paid, I expected much better. Disappointed with Zapo Resort.

The owner and staff kept asking us for money, and hygiene was a major problem. The rooms were dirty, and the sheets and towels didn’t seem properly cleaned. There were lots of dogs roaming around; some even came into the rooms and slept on the beds. Not recommended.

Getting basic information took repeated calls, about 6-7 times. The owner or manager was very unresponsive.
