108 Palms Beach Resort

We came in early March, just before high season. It costs a little more than other places, but you get a lot more luxury, so the price feels fair for what you get. I can't say whether prices go up a lot in high season. The food was really good, though a bit pricey. If you're after peace, a private beach, and beautifully tended gardens, this is a good spot.

We really enjoyed the meals here, and the breakfast was especially good. The ocean is right in front of the resort and looks magnificent. The whole place is lush and green, with monkeys sometimes making their way through if you're lucky. They are cheeky little creatures. We had such a good stay at 108 Palms and would definitely return.

The bungalows were spacious and spotless, and the generous breakfast buffet changed from day to day. Lunch and dinner were fresh and delicious too. The garden is beautiful and well maintained, with a clean pool, and there's a lovely beach nearby with a temple for Ganesh very close by. Our host was kind, caring, and helpful, and the staff were lovely. I'd almost like to keep this secluded place a secret.

We stayed five nights in April during shoulder season and found it a great place to unwind. The peaceful setting, pool, and chance for the kids to run into the sea made for a lovely stay. By the end, we felt like part of the family. The staff were all super friendly and happy to help. Food was very good and the portions were a more normal size than the mountains you get elsewhere. Prices are high, and as others have said, you're pretty locked into them. Though after visiting Uppavelli, the hotel suddenly seemed cheap! Take plenty of water with you. A pack of 12 large bottles costs about Rs2,000, while the hotel charges Rs600 for 1 litre.
