The host was open and easy to talk to, and enjoyed sharing about local people, customs and culture. The hostel is close to the beach and on a main street, though our room stayed quiet. There’s good internet, which isn’t common in Sri Lanka, plus a fridge, stove and sink to use, and a big table with chairs in the living room. We did have some serious problems. There were no mosquito nets on the windows or beds, and the room sink and kitchen could have been cleaner. Most troubling, bedbugs bit us badly for two nights, so it wasn’t just a one-off. We told the host and showed him; he seemed concerned, and we hope he’ll get the problem dealt with. Despite this, I feel a lot of sympathy for the place and the host.

We’re two travelers from Canada and ended up here at the last minute, only five minutes after calling because of unrelated circumstances. The owner was so kind and got us into a room right away. He was honest, sweet and attentive, made sure we could reach him whenever we needed, and even checked in after we left to see if we’d arrived safely at our next stop. The hotel is an easy walk from the beach and food. The AC worked well. There wasn’t hot water, but the temperature was comfortable, and in Trincomalee we didn’t need a hot shower anyway. I’d definitely stay again, especially if you just need simple accommodation while spending most of the day out exploring.

Mr.Baskaran provided good service during our round trip, and the rooms were really comfortable. We had a fantastic stay in Trinco, especially for such a reasonable price.

A peaceful, calm place with very friendly service and a really clean room. The bathrooms are quite small, though. It still feels secure for staying with family or friends.

I didn't like this hotel. The staff were very bad, it cost too much, and there was nothing in the room. A waste of money.
