R Degrees - Ambalangoda

Madushani was wonderful with all our questions and requests, and the rest of the R Degrees team were lovely and extremely helpful. We had a very spacious room with a comfortable bed, plus a lovely garden and refreshing pool. The hotel has amazing beach and sunset views, and the restaurant does delicious Sri Lankan and Western food. The location suited us well. It's around two hours from Colombo international airport, close enough to the main places in the south, but away from the busier tourist towns. I highly recommend trying a traditional massage at the spa, it was so relaxing. We'd absolutely recommend R Degrees for a peaceful break away from the crowds.

The ocean view from the pool made it such a relaxing place to spend time, and the pool itself was lovely. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and we were welcomed warmly when we arrived to spend a few days with family over Christmas. The food was delicious, too. Mrs. Tharanga at the spa really helped us unwind with her wonderful Ayurvedic massages. Many thanks to Mr. Sachin, the Manager, and his whole team for their excellent service and constant care, and to the Chef de Cuisine. Devinda also took great care of us in the restaurant. We'll definitely be back soon.

We spent a week at the hotel after touring the country, and it was a perfect way to end our holiday. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful, going a long way to meet our needs. The grounds are well located, with a nice building, a stylish garden, a pool, and access to the shore and sea. Our room was spacious, well equipped, and very clean. The restaurant's cooking was excellent, though we had to negotiate to get Sri Lankan food only. The portions tend to be very large. We highly recommend staying here.

The service really stood out. Everything seemed very well cared for, including the gardens and the open lawn facing a quiet stretch of beach. It's a peaceful place to slow down, with a relaxing pool and rooms that feel especially roomy thanks to their high ceilings. The bed was excellent, with quality linens and a mattress that made it easy to sleep.
