The hotel was closed when we arrived, even though we had booked ahead and paid someone called Mr. Nishantha, listed on the website as the owner. Nobody was there, and we waited about two hours for someone to open the door. The man who finally let us in claimed to be the owner, said he knew Mr Nishantha and that he was in Kandy, but denied knowing anything about the payment and refused to give us rooms. We had to find somewhere to stay at 2 a.m. in an unfamiliar town. The worst experience I’ve ever had.

We had a great time with Wesley, the owner. If you’re travelling on a low budget, you don’t need luxury, it’s about the experience. Wes took us to some nice places and was a really educational guy to listen to. I recommend staying here. Thank you, Mr Wesley. Mark and Nick from The Netherlands :)
