Avasta Resort

The pool was in poor condition, and the property as a whole seemed badly managed. Service also fell short of what we expected. The rooms are old, though manageable for the price, and breakfast was acceptable but nothing special. Dinner was a bigger letdown. The servings were tiny, and the extra meal we asked for cost Rs. 3,500 for a small portion of fried rice and chicken. That wasn't worth the money. We'd seen negative comments but decided to try Avastha Hotel anyway. Our stay still didn't meet expectations, and the value for money left us dissatisfied.

The food was good, the staff were really friendly, and both the property and pool were kept clean. We had a great time and felt we got good value for every rupee. I'll book here again on my next trip to anuradhapura.

The hotel grounds seemed reasonably well kept, but the room was spacious and still poorly maintained. It didn't live up to the so-called "supper deluxe" standard, and the bathroom wasn't tidy. We stayed overnight on feb 13 and left very disappointed. Dinner was the worst part. The meals we ordered for seven people were barely enough for four, and the taste wasn't good. We didn't feel the stay was worth what we paid, and wouldn't recommend it.

The garden and pond were lovely and peaceful, but the rooms and other facilities were in very poor shape. The room was filthy, the floors were dirty, and the pillows and sheets looked like they hadn't been changed in years. The TVs didn't work either. We were sweating in the front office because there was no cooling while we waited to check in. There was no room service, and no staff available at night. Food choices were very limited too, with many items unavailable when we went to the restaurant. The woman at the front desk, who may have been the manager, didn't seem to know how to run the place. This doesn't feel like a 3-star hotel, barely even 1 star. They need to improve the rooms and service seriously.
