They treat locals and foreigners the same, and these kind people make everyone feel equally welcome. The family’s hospitality and closeness made it easy for us to enjoy our holiday here with joy and trust. The prices are reasonable, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. They charged 2500 per person for a jeep trip to see elephants in the forest, which seemed reasonable. They also gave us a great look at village food, boat rides, and the elephants’ way of life.

The traditional food was impeccable, with taste and quality beyond what we expected, and every part of the meal and service was excellent. The place has a delightful, welcoming feel, and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The young boy they call “Podi Man” was full of enthusiasm and helped us so much throughout the stay. I’d highly recommend trying the traditional dishes. For the service, atmosphere, and food, I’d give it a solid 9 out of 10.

The owner is a true host who takes care of her guests, and every meal was fantastic with generous portions. The rooms were clean and tidy too. This is the best homestay I stayed in during my time in Sri Lanka.

The rooms are comfortable, and the food was delicious. The homestay is run by a wonderful family who really make you feel like one of their own. They also have the best tour guide in Habarana for a safari. Make sure you go after school finishes!

We come back whenever we're in Sri Lanka, and the friendly owner and whole family are a big part of why. The food and atmosphere are the best, and it's a great base for a couple of days while visiting Sigrija, Polonnaruwa and Dambulla. Best place in Sri Lanka :)
