Royal Beach Arugambay

The cabanas have a distinctive tropical feel, built with natural tree-based materials, and the simple rooms are comfortable and fit right in with the surroundings. It felt like staying in harmony with the beach and nature. The setting is right by the beach, with beautiful ocean views and waves to listen to day and night. It’s peaceful and laid-back, great for unwinding, surfing, or just enjoying Arugam Bay. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made the stay even nicer. I had an amazing time here and would definitely stay again.

The location has beautiful beach access and a calm atmosphere, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a pleasant stay at Royal Beach Hotel, with good service throughout. Special mention to the manager, who was very friendly, supportive, and genuinely helpful.

Jaleel, the GM, really goes out of his way to keep guests comfortable and happy. We visited at the beginning of the off season, and the hotel had good occupancy for that time of year. The service was great, and the location is right on the sand, as close to the beach as you can get. We asked for a birthday cake and a special dinner, and they made a beautiful cake and a great meal.

The owner is kind, and the location is central, right on the beach. The straw huts are charming, with a lovely island feel, and the view and atmosphere make it worth a visit if you want a quiet stay close to nature. The facilities are very limited, though. There’s no proper restaurant service, one day there’s a cook and the next day there isn’t, and a coconut drink cost 950 roepies. It’s a simple beach lodge, not the high-end service you might expect from a five-star stay. It also wasn’t clean. The air conditioning was noisy enough that I could barely hear the waves.
