The Long Hostel

The hostel is clean and basic, and the location is good. But I only gave it two stars because some of my laundry went missing. I counted everything before handing it over, then told them the day I got the washing back that two items were gone, following their policy. One staff member said I could get a small discount, and I didn't want to make a big deal out of it since it wasn't the end of the world. Still, they charged the full laundry price and refused to discount their mistake. The staff member was also a bit abrupt when I asked for the concession. Poor service overall. If you stay here, listen to the other reviews and do your laundry somewhere else.

Such a great base for a surf trip, with a laid-back feel and an easy way to meet people. The AC dorms were clean and really comfortable, and it's an easy walk to the beach, surf spots, cafes and pretty much everything you need. The staff are the best, so warm and friendly and always glad to help. I loved staying at The Long Hostel and will definitely come back. Couldn't recommend it more!

The location is excellent, and the hostel is quiet and clean. My room was spacious, with a big personal locker, and the private bathroom was very well maintained with excellent water pressure. The staff were kind and friendly, especially Hansa, who I believe is the manager. He was always attentive to what I needed, a great guy. It seems like a perfect place for young international travelers.

I was turned away by the doorman even though he was letting white European and American non-guests enter. I'm a Black American, and the difference in treatment was despicable. Either let no non-guests in or apply the same rule to everyone. He needs to learn to do his job properly. Shameless.
