Costels Arugambay

The beach by here is much quieter, which we liked, though the restaurants are a bit farther out and we always walked down to them. We stayed three nights and thought it was amazing value. The rooms have basic amenities, and the mosquito nets and AC are good. They have cheap laundry on site and the food is pretty good. One night there was karaoke, which was a lot of fun and a great way to meet the other guests. The host has a cool personality, knows lots of people around town, and also gives surfing lessons.

We had a great stay. The host was really friendly and helped us with anything we needed. Good restaurants and coffee are right across the street, and it's an easy walk to the beach.

Only the location was good. The floor was filthy, the bathroom was dirty, and there were cockroaches everywhere. The hand wash on the bathroom sink was crushed. We had no blankets to cover ourselves, and I wasn't happy with the service at all. Staying here was a really bad experience.

The staff at Costels were friendly, professional, and ready to help. They also shared useful suggestions for local attractions and places to eat, which made the stay more enjoyable. The rooms, bathrooms, and shared areas were spotless, with housekeeping keeping everything hygienic. From the moment I arrived I felt comfortable and welcome. My stay at Costels was wonderful, and it exceeded what I expected.
