I stayed one night, on November 01, 2024. I’d seen negative Google comments beforehand, so I arrived a little worried. But the fresh-air, green surroundings changed my impression completely. The house is cool, and the rooms are neat and clean. The owners are elderly and very kind. I’d suggest leaving enough time in your schedule to enjoy the nature here. I wish I could have stayed another day. Highly recommended.

The room for three was spacious and clean, and the powerful fan kept things comfortable even without AC. We skipped breakfast, though it looked good and seemed reasonably priced. We had a great-value stay at Tree Breeze Inn and would recommend it. It’s out toward the edge of Kandy, so there’s a bit of a walk, but that’s the only drawback.

After we climbed Adam’s Peak on the morning we were due to arrive, 256 Townhouse Rest told us they had no room and were full. I’d booked through Booking, paid by card, and had confirmations, including one the day before. I’d also messaged them on WhatsApp two days earlier to give our arrival time. They blamed Booking for not sending messages, which I don’t believe, especially since they had taken the payment. I suspect they gave our room to someone paying more or staying longer. It was a really disappointing and disrespectful experience. They offered to move us to their other property and refund part of the cost, plus arrange a tuktuk. But when I checked it on Booking, the rate was cheaper, so their claim that it was the same room didn’t add up. The place turned out to be a room in the owner’s home, far outside the city. Even a PickMe tuktuk driver wouldn’t come, and the room was old and in poor condition, with a broken kettle. I found them untrustworthy. Save yourself the hassle and book somewhere else.

The host family were warm and welcoming, and the house looked great from outside, as did the surroundings. Inside was another story. The rooms were very dirty, including the sheets, and the bathroom hoses were filthy. The floor hadn’t been cleaned either. The kitchen was awful, and we had to wash everything ourselves before we could use the plates or cook. There was even a large leech in our bathroom. Disgusting.
