The Glenrock Hotel

The river below the hotel was a highlight for us. Its natural pool was amazing, and taking a dip was refreshing and unforgettable. Meals were another standout, especially the varied, well-made four-course dinners. We had a memorable, refreshing family stay at Glenrock Nature Resort. The waterfall sounds and sweeping views made the setting feel peaceful and immersed in nature from the moment we arrived. The eco-style buildings fit beautifully into the surroundings. Our room was comfortable and naturally cool, though air conditioning was available if needed. The staff were attentive and hospitable throughout our two-night, three-day visit, adding a lot to the experience. A special, comfortable nature getaway that we’d recommend.

The food was made mostly from freshly harvested produce, and the taste and freshness were hard to beat. Staff were unbelievably friendly, polite, and professional. I suspect the village connection helps, since 80% of the team was recruited locally. There’s plenty to experience, from a real paddy field and Pahantudawa waterfall to a refreshing bath in Belihuloya, tea in a real Kamatha, and snacks on a rooftop surrounded by mountains. Belihul Oya flows beside the property, with an impressive mountain range around it. It’s a wonderfully relaxing place filled with the calm of nature. You won’t find another quite like it.

I spent each day dipping in the river, then relaxing in the sun on a big rock and taking in the quiet natural surroundings. The room was huge and private, overlooking the river, with a gigantic balcony and a bubble bath. In the morning, curious monkeys showed up, and I added lots of birds to my list. The food was heavenly, and the staff thought of every detail. They took me on two tours to nearby spots and helped me with everything. I was welcomed warmly when I arrived and shown straight to my room. I’d definitely return. Special thanks to Gihan, Tushara and Chananda for making everything go so smoothly :)

The jeep ride they arranged had a great safari feel and added some adventure to our getaway. They also took us to a lovely waterfall at Hitiketi Oya, where we enjoyed a refreshing bath outdoors. The beautiful Belihul Oya runs right behind Glenrock Belihuloya, making the setting incredibly peaceful. Every meal was full of flavor and prepared with care. The crew were humble, polite, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we arrived. It was such a beautiful, memorable escape, and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting nature and warm hospitality.
