The owners were friendly, smiling, and helpful. They recommended a male masseur who came to the property and a river trip, and both were very good. The beach is around seven minutes away on foot, with lots of restaurants and cafes close to the guesthouse. Our clean room had a big bathroom, AC and a fan, a fridge, mirror, enough hangers, a mini kitchen outside, and a small veranda looking onto a cute garden. I have to say, this is the best homestay.
The owner was friendly, though she doesn't speak much English, and a misunderstanding meant our room was cleaned much later than we'd expected. We got a discount by saying we wouldn't use the AC. The room was clean and had cute Christmas decorations left over from last year, and the beach was an easy three-minute walk away. The bathroom smelled a bit and had a lot of insects. I counted three cockroaches and a spider the size of my hand, though that may be unavoidable in Sri Lanka. The fan was a bit noisy. Our stay was decent.
Bentota Orchid House is very close to the beach, with a variety of cuisines. The property was clean and well located, and the staff were extremely helpful. My room was spotless, and the mattress and pillows made for a very comfortable bed. I had a brilliant stay, and everything was excellent. My best wishes are always with Bentota Orchid House.
The sea views from the rooms were breathtaking, and I found Bentota Orchid House a great place to unwind by the water. The service was impeccable, too. I really enjoyed my stay here.
For the room price, I’m happy with what I got. It was tidy, with a private bathroom, AC, a mini fridge, WiFi, a fan, and a mosquito net. There were also plenty of hangers and a cabinet. Good value for budget accommodation.
