This was a terrible hotel, with awful service and a very bad attitude from the managers. They ruined our three-day stay. We’d paid in advance and couldn’t get a refund. For basic things like water and wifi, we had to beg the owners. At a resort this big, there wasn’t a single staff member or helper. Even after taking our booking, they served cheap local food that wasn’t even edible. They expect tourists to eat bread and butter and call it breakfast. Don’t trust the paid reviews below. This resort doesn’t deserve a single star, and the fake reviews gave it five.

We booked three nights through View trip holidays in Dec 2025. The resort is far inside on a narrow road, and it was hard for a mini bus to get through. There are practically no facilities, and the kitchen is about one KM away. None of the rooms had an electric kettle, so getting tea or coffee in the morning was difficult. The food was cold for two nights, and we skipped dinner on the last night. It ran out quickly, with no option to refill. The resort manager was not tourist friendly at all. A very bad experience.

The owner was rude and impolite, and didn’t respond to any of our requests. There was no staff at the hotel, no subscribed TV channels, and no kettle.

The grounds and gardens were peaceful, and the whole place was quiet. The owners and their family were so accommodating, nothing seemed like too much trouble. Some local relatives joined us for a day, and everyone was treated kindly and respectfully. They made us a fabulous home-cooked lunch. As two mature women traveling, we felt safe and comfortable. I’ll certainly return.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are lovely and helpful. The walls have beautiful pictures and antiques that give the place an old-world feel. The atmosphere is superb, and the seaside setting makes it a lovely place to visit and stay. Order food ahead of time, the cooks make tasty meals. A must-visit in Bentota, Sri Lanka.
