We had spacious rooms with balconies, and the big pool was warm and clean. The grounds are full of plants and flowers, and there are two very cute cats. Service at breakfast was a highlight: after just one day, the waiter remembered we liked fruit afterward, brought coffee without us asking, and handled every little request. The staff were very accommodating. The beach is two minutes away and wasn't crowded even in high season. The price was much better than in the "city center," though Bentota is tiny. A tuk-tuk ride to Bentota or Aluthgama takes a couple of minutes and costs around 300-600 rupees. A peaceful, relaxing stay.

The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere, a nice pool, and reasonable prices. The pool was great, and breakfast was good. I'd suggest choosing one of the newer rooms, which are cleaner and better equipped. We had trouble communicating with the night staff, who didn't speak English. On a very hot night, the air conditioning stopped working, and they couldn't fix it, so we didn't sleep at all. Rooms on the entrance side may also get disturbing train noise because the hotel is near the tracks. Our room had bugs and no mosquito net.

We took the River Safari, and it made our day and left us with a great impression. They can suggest tours at a good price and quality if you need them. The hotel was clean and quiet, with a real Sri Lankan atmosphere, very hospitable staff, and an amazing breakfast. They also brought us welcome drinks.

A quiet, peaceful place just a few steps from the beach. The rooms are spacious and clean, the people are friendly and always smiling, and breakfast is delicious. If that's the kind of stay you want, this is the place.

The train passes very close to the property, so be prepared for sleepless nights. We chose a stay with breakfast, but they had run out of food before breakfast closing time and didn't serve us. It was raining at checkout, and they gave us no umbrellas, so we had to carry our bags outside and got drenched. A horrible experience.
