We’d walked past Wunderschon a few times. It looked empty, and a Google search turned up very little information, so we kept hesitating. We finally gave it a try tonight and were glad we did. The waiter was friendly, polite, and welcoming, and answered all our menu questions. My partner had been craving lobster, and they had it at a good price and were happy to make him lobster Thermidor. I ordered Sri Lankan fish curry with several small plates of sides. Everything tasted amazing, and we had a great night. What a hidden little gem.

The rooms? I can’t say, since we stayed at the Tja Bentota. We ate here three times, though, including fresh fish on two occasions. The food was the best we found in Bentota, and the friendly staff were attentive. The prices were very good, and they even brought complimentary appetizers and desserts. We’d happily come back.
