The toilet had ants all over it, including crawling across my toothbrush. We wasted time driving around for 30 minutes before anyone replied, after discovering that the Airbnb location was completely different from the actual address. We booked because it was listed as near the train station, but it was miles away. A waste of time.

Mornings brought a lovely chance to feed the monkeys in the mangroves from the property's private jetty. Our two-year-old had plenty of room to roam in the spacious room, and the huge, well-kept garden was great for him to play in. The pool was fantastic too. The place is just outside town in a beautiful, peaceful setting, and it's incredibly quiet. The service was superb, especially Whida, who was attentive and took care of our requests. We were delighted with the accommodation and highly recommend it.

The rooms were surprisingly clean for Sri Lanka, and we didn't see any animal guests. We've stayed here several times, and each visit began with a warm welcome and fantastic food. It's tucked away from the noisy main road and concrete blocks, but the staff can take you to the beach by boat in no time. The ride through the mangroves is a highlight on its own. We'd love to come back.
