Mr. Neil was helpful and around whenever we needed him, with good suggestions for enjoying the area. His breakfast spread was awesome. The hotel is just meters from the beach and amenities. Our room was clean, the shower was great, and both the AC and WiFi were strong. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Unawatuna.
Unawatuna didn’t feel quite Sri Lankan to us, so we moved on after one night. The room itself was comfortable, and the host was welcoming and friendly. It’s in a quiet spot off the busy street, but the main beaches are still within walking distance.

Monkeys came by in the mornings, and the beach was only three minutes away. The guesthouse is tucked off the main pedestrian street, so it’s away from the noise, though all the action is easy to walk to. I stayed five days and loved everything. The room was cozy and clean, and I cooked dinner in the kitchen. Neil’s delicious, filling breakfasts kept me going until dinner. I highly recommend it!
The beach is nearby, there are loads of cafes, and our bed was huge. Everything was clean and worked well. We stayed two days and enjoyed the filling breakfasts: eggs, coconut-filled pancakes, toast, decent butter, jam, and a big plate of fruit. We didn’t have any of the robbery or harassment mentioned in bad reviews. We always keep our money with us, as experience has taught us.
