We were nervous about leaving our car on the street, even though it seemed like a safe one. Colombo is still Colombo, and parking there may worry locals arriving by car. The central location was handy for getting Uber or PickMe, though. Our early check-in was arranged at no charge since the room was ready, and the room, bathroom, cleanliness, and general feel were all great for our one-night B&B stay. One thing I’d change: serve fresh juice at breakfast and as the welcome drink instead of diluted cordial. The sugary artificial stuff really takes away from the atmosphere.

The staff were lovely, spoke good English, and were ready to help with whatever we needed. We also had a really good Sri Lankan breakfast, with plenty to eat before heading out. Our room was spacious, the bathroom and shower were lovely, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. Both the AC and fan worked well. There’s a calm lounge with quality furniture, and getting into the city was easy.

Janaka looked after us so kindly, and we’re really grateful for his hospitality. After four nights, the place felt like home. The hotel itself is beautiful, our room was clean, roomy, and comfortable, and the service was hard to fault. Breakfast was great too, with lots of choices.

Jude and Janaka did so much to make our stay comfortable, and we had a wonderful time at Anugaa In The City. Breakfast was the best we’ve had, with tasty traditional food and plenty of variety. The room was spacious and comfortable, and both it and the bathroom were clean. I’d recommend this place to anyone visiting Colombo.

We found a decent place and got much more than we expected for the price. The atmosphere was peaceful, and Ms Anuradha and Janaka treated us well throughout. Coming back late wasn’t a problem. Breakfast was amazing, and on Christmas Day they put out a delicious Christmas spread. We’ll definitely come back.
