Ashan's Cozy Apartments

Check-in was quick, and the staff helped us with a boiler. But the room looked nothing like its advertised photo, and the bathroom was dirty and smelly. We also had no warm water. They need to raise their standards and clean the bathroom properly before hosting more guests.

I was really saddened and angered by the reply I received about my booking. The hotel said they weren’t available and asked me to book somewhere else because they hadn’t received an advance payment to confirm my arrival. But the site clearly says no prepayment is needed and that payment is made after the stay. They seem to change their minds quickly, so I strongly recommend checking with them before booking.

We booked online for six people at a reasonable price, around Rs6000/=, and got one large room with four beds and two attached bathrooms. The beds were somewhat comfortable, but the apartment was full of big flies and cockroaches. The bathrooms were disgusting, with insects flying around, and the washbasins leaked. The interior finish also didn’t look as good as the photos, and there were no air fresheners.

The walls were paper thin, so noise could be a problem. Cleanliness was only average. Still, the staff were friendly and helpful, and let us arrive early. For cheap accommodation in the city centre, I couldn’t expect much more.
