Granbell Colombo Hotel

We spent one night in a Standard Double Room with a city view, and everything felt great from start to finish. The room was modern, exceptionally clean, and had a fantastic view. Best of all, the staff were generous, welcoming and so friendly. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and looked after. Loved every bit of the stay. We'll definitely come back, and I'd highly recommend this place for its lovely rooms and top-notch service.

Our reservation wasn't showing in the system, so checking in was stressful. Mr Nadum quickly reassured us that he'd sort it out, and we appreciated him stepping in promptly. When we got back to the hotel later, Gyruka made sure our room key card worked. The staff were friendly, pleasant and helpful, and thanks to everyone who helped with our different needs.

The infinity pool was small but clean, with stunning views over the sea, and the bar also had a nice city view. Those sea views and the infinity pool were why we picked it over several other five-star hotels. Marino beach was the only other one we considered. The rooms have full glass windows and walls that give excellent sea views, and good bathrooms with an automated western commode. The sofa seats slid around, which we didn't like. Room service was prompt, the Indian food was good, and the reception staff were nice. We didn't try breakfast. Reception is on the first floor.

The car park had plenty of room, and the separate lifts were convenient. They also have a great wine selection. We were in Colombo for two nights because I had a meeting and a wedding on each day, so we wanted a central hotel that made getting around easy. Since we'd never stayed at Granbell before, we took the chance to try it. Before we arrived, Roshain was prompt, professional and very helpful. He arranged a good rate and helped with our late checkout request because my meeting would finish late on departure day. The hotel agreed, which made a real difference to our plans. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade at check-in. The room was immaculate, with excellent amenities and a sophisticated bathroom with Japanese toilets. The views from the balcony and bathroom were breathtaking. Room service was very good. We didn't get to try all the facilities, but we used the pool and rooftop bar, both with stunning views. A personal welcome note from the General Manager and a souvenir were a lovely surprise and made us feel special. We felt pampered from start to finish. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely return. We can't recommend Granbell Hotel Colombo enough.
