We booked through Booking.com on 27th October 2025, and the stay was deeply disappointing. Their designated parking area didn’t feel secure: someone deliberately scratched our vehicle in three places. The property also seemed to be under construction, and felt unsafe and poorly managed. We told the office staff and tried contacting them again, but got no helpful response or support, and no proper action was taken. We were really disheartened. Think twice before booking, it didn’t feel secure or properly maintained.

I’ve stayed in many hotels for work, and this is the only time I’ve experienced theft. I already posted a review from my other account, and this one is to confirm the management’s negligence and poor service. After I filed my police complaint, Mr Goonawardane from Kirulapone Police Station called to say they had called for an inquiry. No one from New York Guest House showed up, and he said he’d keep me informed about any developments. Seeing other reviews, it seems safety is a major issue here. After so many bad reviews, it’s surprising management still has no intention of installing basic CCTV cemeras. To me, that shows negligence toward customer service and consumer protection. If you stay here, don’t leave valuables in the room or park in their parking slots. You’ll regret the stay.

@ Wellawatta Apartment The higher management doesn’t seem to care or take responsibility, which made this even more disappointing. The apartments at Kirulapana seemed to offer much better service and professionalism. Here, the house manager seemed attentive only until we paid the advance. After that he became unresponsive and unhelpful. When an urgent situation meant we couldn’t come, his attitude changed completely. He even acted as if he couldn’t speak. That kind of unprofessional behavior is unacceptable.

My girlfriend’s car was scratched in three places while parked at the property on 27-28 October, and management never followed through. They said they’d check the CCTV footage and get back to us within a day, but even after we followed up, there was no feedback or apology. The stay itself was noisy because the property was under construction, and the place wasn’t properly cleaned. Customer service felt unprofessional and unhelpful. The management was completely irresponsible and this was unacceptable. I can’t recommend staying here until they improve the facilities and accountability.
