I stayed from yesterday until 6 pm today. The room itself was good, but two receptionists treated me like I was a thief. At checkout, one had staff inspect the room straight away. I paid 10k to stay, not to steal anything, and I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels. I was there because of my pets. They didn’t even offer to open the door when I was struggling with things to carry, and only came over once I was stuck. I don’t want anyone’s belongings, so they shouldn’t judge people with that kind of cheap mentality.

I still think fondly of those affordable days at Wellatta in Colombo. I was there for a short holiday and got some much-needed rest from all the pressure, sleeping like a baby in a peaceful, well-known place. The room had AC and a TV, though I was asleep most of the time and never got around to watching it. It’s been almost a year, but those days still feel valuable. One thing, the hotel didn’t turn on the water. I wasn’t paying much attention to that because I’d finally had a chance to relax.

I went there in the evening for a birthday party. The staff welcomed me nicely and pointed me to the right floor, and they were very helpful. The first floor can be used for a medium-sized party, with room for around 80 to 100 people. It’s near Arpico Super in Wellawatta, and I haven’t seen another place like it.
