Pearl Grand By Rathna

Breakfast had plenty of variety, though watch out for added chilli! I enjoyed my two-week half-board stay at the Grand Pearl Rathna. I see it as a 3 star hotel with 5* service, thanks to the friendly, helpful people at Reception, in the restaurant, room service and cleaning. Amila made lovely towel art that touched me, and he always checked attentively whether I needed anything in my room. Gayan, the technical man, was helpful too. Service really matters, and this hotel didn’t disappoint. Thank you everyone. 🙏🏼💕

High tea was nicely laid out and worth the price, with a tasty selection of sweets and baked items. We went with friends toward the end of December and had a lovely time. Rathna Pearl Grand feels spacious, calm and well organized, and the staff were attentive and supportive without rushing us. A relaxing spot for high tea in busy Colombo. Recommended ❤️

The breakfast buffet was enjoyable and had a good selection, and I also liked the pool’s clean water and pleasant view. My room was comfortable, although the view didn’t match the photos and was just average. The sink also wouldn’t drain properly. The biggest frustration was arriving for check-in with a prior booking and waiting almost an hour because the room hadn’t been cleaned. Reception wasn’t very welcoming, and I had an important meeting, so the delay disrupted my plans. Food was okay otherwise. Decent overall, but for a hotel in this range I expected more, especially from reception and room readiness.

Amil from the cleaning staff kept the room beautifully made each day, and the front desk team were generally helpful. We did have one small disagreement, though it wasn’t entirely their fault. Quite a good hotel.
