Shiloh Apartments

The listing set high expectations, but the actual stay was disappointing and didn't justify the price. I booked through Agoda and paid approximately INR 7,500 per night in advance. Given the condition and facilities, I wouldn't value it at more than INR 2,000-2,500 per night. I'd advise future travelers to avoid paying the full amount up front and look at other serviced apartments in and around Colombo for better comfort and value. We were a family of four and got a unit on the 4th floor, although the lift only went to the 2nd. The entrance and corridor were cramped and narrow. There's no fan, just air conditioning, which made temperature control difficult. With the AC off the room was uncomfortable, but leaving it on all night made us shiver, and no extra blanket was provided. Nobody checked how we were doing or whether we needed anything. The apartment was poorly equipped for a serviced apartment: torn bedsheets, a broken ironing board, very few kitchen utensils, and just one induction cooktop instead of a proper cooking setup. The fridge was a small hotel-room size rather than a full-size one, and the bathroom didn't even have basic toiletries. Many listing photos seem heavily edited and don't show the property's real condition. It's in a posh Colombo area, but very hard to find, especially at night. There was no visible signboard, and even Google Maps struggled to guide us to the exact spot. The property looks like a residential apartment converted into a serviced apartment. In one line, it's a "jugad" by the owner to make money without the utilities of a proper serviced apartment or residential property. The detailed reviews I found seem fake or written by the owner's friends and family.

We had a very pleasant, comfortable stay in a two-bedroom unit at Shiloh Apartment for a little over two weeks in February and March 2026. It's clean and very secure, and close enough to walk to our favourite restaurants and all the amenities. Bernard and his assistant, who is there most of the time, were really helpful and pleasant. I mostly communicated on WhatsApp with Shanil, who handled the payments very professionally. We love the place and look forward to coming back next time we visit Srilanka.

The people running the place were genuinely friendly and helpful, and we absolutely loved our stay in a spacious 3BR apartment. It's right in central Colombo, very close to all the important spots in Kollupitiya. For that area, it's an affordable option. Comfortable and convenient, and I'd highly recommend it.

We planned to stay one night and ended up here for four. The apartments were clean and the service was excellent. From the start, the welcoming staff and warm, friendly ambience made us feel at home. The owner was obliging, easy to talk to, and friendly, which gave us a real sense of belonging. Thanks to the Team for such a positive, pleasant stay at Shiloh Apartments.
