Breakfast was the biggest letdown at The Boutique Spice. We expected an English breakfast but got something more like an Ethiopian one. The fruit tasted as if it had been kept near onions, and the bread was soggy, almost like it had been prepared the day before. The place itself has lovely rooms and a welcoming atmosphere. Mr. Bandara was warm and attentive, and the door staff were professional and friendly from the moment we arrived. But the person handling our bill, maybe the manager or someone from the front office, came across as unprofessional, which was disappointing alongside the good service from the others. The hotel has potential, though some parts need work to make the experience consistent.

The garden at the back, right beside the golf course, was my favorite part. There’s also a dining area and living room where you can spend time with friends or family. The interiors are beautiful and tastefully done, with a real home-like feel, and the neighborhood is an upscale part of Colombo. I’d strongly recommend it for a relaxed city getaway with friends or family.

It felt like a home away from home, and the service and staff were great. I’d come back, but the mosquitoes in the room made it a bloodbath and kept me from sleeping at all. I complained to the room manager, who said he’d make sure electric repellents were fitted in every room. With that addressed, I could recommend staying here.

My wife and I loved this boutique hotel. The garden and surrounding area were pleasant, and we enjoyed the included breakfast. The modern rooms had everything we needed, and the staff were friendly and looked after everything. Highly recommended!

There are comfortable places to lounge around, and my room was peaceful, with a comfy bed and bathroom. The accommodation has a classy, authentic Sri Lankan style, with lots of artwork and history throughout that gives it a distinctive feel.
