Venus Hotel

The room was on the compact side, but it had what I needed for a short visit, including reliable Wi-Fi, a working bathroom, and a tidy setup. It was clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well after a day exploring Colombo. The staff were helpful from arrival, and check-in was quick and easy. Venus Hotel sits right in the city center, near shops, places to eat, transport, and nearby sights, so getting around was simple. It’s not a luxury hotel, but the price felt like good value, especially since I wasn’t spending much time in the room. I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it as a clean, convenient budget base in Colombo.

We spent three days here and had a good stay. It’s one of the city’s better budget hotels, and the staff were friendly. Manager Jay took especially good care of us. I can’t complain, considering it isn’t a five-star hotel.

The room was clean and neat, and the facilities were enough for the three of us who stayed there. The hotel and staff were good, and I loved the place. I hope to come back.

We were locked out at 12:30 a.m. with a 6 a.m. flight coming up. The main gate was shut, there was no guard or staff around, and nobody answered the phone numbers posted there. We knocked for ages. Locals said the owner just drinks and sleeps. One staff member finally came down from the fourth floor and opened the gate. How would they even know if guests were stranded outside? Earlier, they refused to honor the payment I’d made online through Hotels.com and made me pay again. I was there for hours with my elderly parents and a child. The room was a joke too, with no charging sockets, Wi-Fi, table, or mirror. The owner’s attitude made the whole thing worse. This ruined our Sri Lanka trip. Pathetic management, never again.
