The host had a plentiful breakfast and made a real effort to make it special. We also got a welcome smoothie, and the owner kindly arranged a late check-in after our very late arrival at Colombo airport and the drive there. Green Village Dambulla was our first homestay in Sri Lanka. Sadly, the neighbor’s rooster started crowing incessantly from 3:00 a.m. onwards, which really spoiled what should have been a peaceful night.
