Hotel Gala Addara

The food, served on a leafy veranda, was our favorite part. Manju cooked delicious Sri Lankan meals at home and brought out fresh fruit platters. Breakfast was lavish, with three kinds of hoppers, curries and fruit. The owners were incredibly hospitable, getting up early to make breakfast before our outings, packing sandwiches, yogurt and fruit, and making sure we ate well. Their warmth comes through everywhere. My friend and I spent two delightful nights at Hotel Gala Addara. It's well placed for Dambulla, Sigiriya Lion Rock and nearby elephant reserves, but the dense vines and plants made the property feel like a haven from the busy main street. The air conditioned room had the amenities we needed, a small bathroom issue was fixed right away, and the pool was clear and refreshing. I'll recommend it to all my friends.

The owners were always there for us, made meals at the times we wanted, and kept the pool clean. My girlfriend and I had a lovely two-day stay. Thanks especially to Shante, the tour guide the owners recommended. He showed us places we wouldn't have found on our own, including great trips to Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa. His English was very good and he drove safely. If you want to feel special on holiday, this is a place you should go 😁

The owners really spoiled us with a huge, delicious vegan breakfast every morning and great suggestions for huluru eco Park. We saw so many baby elephants! Sunil was our guide for Sigiriya Rock and Village. Gala Addara was a brilliant stay, a beautiful tropical oasis off the main road with such warm hosts. We can't recommend it highly enough.

The hosts were great, and the lovely staff were attentive and accommodating. Breakfast was huge with plenty of good options, and they made sure we tried different foods at mealtimes, including elephant fruit and string hopper. Our host even went out of their way to drive us to a nearby massage place. Both the massage and the safari they recommended were really good. We had plenty of space, the rooms were mosquito free, and the pool was clean and refreshing. The whole stay felt authentic and thoughtful. We really enjoyed it, and I'd definitely come back and recommend it to anyone in the area.
