Lake Bliss

The family who runs the hotel made us feel so welcome and were very generous. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, and it’s wonderfully quiet. We also really enjoyed breakfast. A lovely place to slow down, and worth staying longer than just one or two nights.

We planned to stay a couple of days and wound up staying almost a week. The owner was very friendly, and his wife made delicious breakfasts and rice curry for dinner. One of the coziest, most comfortable hotels of our month-long trip around Sri Lanka. Don’t hesitate, book a week!

They’re open! The beds are big, the sheets are nice, there are plenty of pillows, and the towels are great. The food was amazing too, the best breakfast we’ve had in ages. It’s a little outside town, but the quiet and relaxing setting makes it worth it.

Everyone was welcoming and did so much to make our stay memorable. They showed us the lake and the village mud house, and told us about the trees and vegetable garden. The food was tasty, and the hospitality felt authentically Sri Lankan. It’s a beautiful luxury place on the edge of the lake, a good spot to relax and visit Pidurangala, Dambulla temple, and Sigiriya.
