Robert Inn Dambulla

IF YOU ARE A WOMAN, don’t come here. Maybe only if you’re very, very poor, because Robert, even though he seems kind, will try something with you. He told me to go see elephants by the road on his bike. I was feeling bad because I was dealing with another kind of problem, so I went. On the way, he touched my leg twice. The second time, I told him, “DON’T touch me.” The next day, I met another girl who said he had hugged her and kissed her neck, and she had told him NO. This morning, when I was leaving, he went to hug me. I told him not to do those things or we’d be in trouble. It’s a very cheap place, but it’s your choice. I don’t recommend it. Only go if you really need to save money.

The area is quiet, so I slept really well during my two nights at Robert's place. I enjoyed the stay, and the owner is very kind.

Set just outside town, it’s quiet here, though the high street is only about 500 metres away, a 5-10 minute walk. The rooms are clean, bright and airy, and you can choose AC with a fan or just a fan. The shared hot shower and toilet are right beside the rooms. Staff are lovely and always smiling. Cheap and cheerful, I really liked staying here and would recommend it.

Robert was so helpful and friendly, and can arrange transport wherever you need to go. We also got a generous, really tasty breakfast. The place is close to the main road, though the nearest shop is about a kilometre away. Our room was basic but clean. I’d definitely recommend staying at Robert’s guesthouse.
