When I arrived on December 7, 2025, the place was closed for maintenance. Maybe it had to shut because of flood damage repairs. I wasn’t notified at all, so I couldn’t give it zero. I believe they owe their guests that obligation.

The building felt quiet and cozy, surrounded by trees, and our room was spacious. The hosts were helpful, and it’s right in the middle of the city, making it easy to get transport and travel around. Great for a one-night stay. The access road is narrow and easy to miss at night.

A friendly home away from home, with a clean, fresh feel and a central location. The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome and happy. For me, it’s the best place to stay in Dambhulla and Sri Lanka.

I booked through booking.com for $19 USD a night, and it was very good value. Tucked down an alley in the heart of Dambull, it was quiet and comfortable, with plenty of hot water, great AC, strong WiFi and a good breakfast in the morning. The location worked perfectly for me: an easy walk to a grocery store and places for drinks and dinner. The owner gave me helpful tips about where to eat and what to do. Very clean, and I’d highly recommend it.

The owners were incredibly helpful and took care of everything, from taxis to the cave temple and a jeep safari for the kadulla national park to a taxi for our bus. The accommodation was really clean and hygienic, and breakfast was nice too.
