The Beach Villa

A peaceful, stylish villa that felt worth the stay. The rooms were modern, lovely, and comfortable, and there’s a clean pool for relaxing. The beach is only a few steps away. I had an amazing time here and would definitely recommend it.

Faisal was so sweet, respectful, and funny, and really seemed to have our best interests in mind. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the beach and lovely restaurants along the shore are under a five-minute walk away. I’d absolutely recommend staying here if you want to relax.

For USD 60 a night, this didn’t feel like good value. The pictures and reviews looked promising, but I regretted booking here. The bathroom needs renovation and wasn’t properly cleaned: the toilet seat was dirty, there were spiders, cobwebs and mouldy spots, and I found a hairball from previous guests on the room floor. There were also stains on the walls, mirrors and sheets. The lighting was harsh bright white, with no bedside light, and there wasn’t a spare outlet for charging. I couldn’t get the safe working either. I’ve stayed at much better places in Mount Lavinia for the same money, like Coza Ceylon!

If you can spend a couple more dollars, book somewhere else where the owner respects guests. I stayed one night and it was a nightmare. A large group of local guests in the next room drank, smoked and screamed all night, so I couldn’t sleep at all. I asked the owner several times if he could get them to behave, but nothing changed. I left early in the morning completely exhausted. My worst experience in Sri Lanka in 12 years.
