Kiralawella Beach Inn

I was sick when I arrived, and Sam made me soup. His kindness and generosity made our stay memorable, and I already miss this home away from home and Sam and his beautiful daughters. The accommodation is right on the beach, with a beautiful view, and the rooms are clean and basic. Breakfast was wonderful every day. The quiet beach isn't a tourist circus, so it suits anyone who wants solitude and time with local Sri Lankan people. It seems to be a fishing village, with simple, kind people. The wildlife was another highlight: monkeys all around, peacocks on the roofs, and water and land monitor lizards. There was never a dull moment. I hope to return one day, and this is where I'll stay. Thank you for everything, Sam.

The food was delicious, with a real down-south flavour and a homemade feel. The beds were very comfortable, and the beachfront stay is right in front of Kiralawella beach. Sam Aiyya and his family are among the warmest, most welcoming, hospitable people I've met. He really cares about how your stay goes. A fabulous place in Dondra, highly recommended. 😍😍😍👍👍

Sam and his family were very sweet, hospitable, and attentive. The place is simple and basic, but has what you need, including good quality wifi. We really enjoyed staying with them, right on the beach, with a beautiful view.

The family looked after us so well, and nothing was too much trouble. Their food was very good, with huge portions, and the rooms were spacious and very clean. It's a wonderful little guesthouse in a fishing village, just a short walk from the lighthouse and small town. Everything was perfect. I hope to return next year and stay longer.
