Beldon Boutique Hotel

We loved having the coffee shop and restaurant right next to the hotel, with good meals, fresh coffee, and room service available too. The food had a nice range of local dishes and Western favourites. The staff were welcoming from the moment we arrived and very attentive throughout. Each of the three rooms has its own character: Olu and Lilly Bungalows are downstairs with private plunge pools, while the elevated Sera Family Suite has a gorgeous bathtub. Beldon Boutique Hotel is new and stylish, right in the heart of Hiriketiya, within a short walk of the beach, surf schools, Smoke & Bitters, Dots Bay House, and other main attractions. A great choice if you want comfort and warm hospitality.

Lunch at the restaurant was a treat, especially the seafood rice, and I liked that they serve Lavazza coffee and cocktails at the bar. The Olu Bungalow felt calm and serene despite being right in central Hiriketiya, and it had a private plunge pool that was perfect after a day out. The room was luxurious and well equipped with tea and coffee facilities, a TV, a comfortable lounge bed, and the usual little amenities. The design is beautiful, with a strong Geoffrey Bawa feel. You can walk to the beach, surf points, Smoke & Bitters, and Dots Bay House. It’s a lovely mix of comfort, luxury, and convenience. I’d definitely recommend Beldon and hope to return.

The prawn curry, dhal, and roti are a must try. Beldon’s food was the best we had in Sri Lanka, and breakfast deserves a special mention too. One of our best finds here. 100% recommend staying in Hiriketiya.

It’s easy to walk to either beach and to all the main restaurants and shops, yet the hotel sits in a quiet spot where we slept peacefully. Our room was lovely and spacious, with everything we needed. Breakfast was included, and we could pick from the restaurant menu or have it brought to the room, which was a nice touch. The staff were so kind and went out of their way to help, including arranging transport and giving advice about the area.
