The Boat House Dikwella

The staff made an amazing stay feel unbelievable. Sadeep kept things running smoothly, sorting out problems big and small, and helped plan a 60th birthday evening that went far beyond what we expected, with cake, fireworks, cocktails, and more. Chef Lasantha and his Sous Gayan prepared a wonderful range of meals, from traditional Sri Lankan curries to fresh seafood pasta, and we loved both the variety and how well everything was done. Ravi and Namal looked after the house with positivity, a smile, and just the right balance of attentiveness and subtlety. As a team, they were unflappable, and even a pretty good beach cricket team ;) The Boathouse itself feels like a little pocket of paradise in Dikwella, and I'm already dreaming of returning. Its open, spacious layout has different corners for relaxing or spending time together, whether that means card games, long conversations, or lounging by the pool in the Sri Lankan sun. With our group's different tastes, the house suited everyone. Each bedroom felt both spacious and cosy, and they were all so good that nobody had to argue over who got which one. You can hear the calm waves from the house at night, then be in the sea within 15 seconds in the morning. The place is much more than somewhere to stay. Thanks to the team for helping create such unforgettable memories.

My mum's birthday was so special because the team put so much care into celebrating her. They arranged a beach bonfire, fireworks, cake, and a beach barbecue, and it meant the world to us. Chef Lasantha and Chef Gayan made every meal amazing, each one better than the last, and no request felt too big. The whole team was warm and kind, and Ravi, Sadeep, and Namal kept everything spotless. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. From the moment we arrived, our stay at The Boat House felt beyond perfect. The house is unreal, opening straight onto the beach, and waking to the ocean every morning was magical. Truly a trip of a lifetime. We're so lucky we got to experience it. Thank you Sadeep and The Boat House team for an unforgettable stay. 5 stars isn't enough!

The staff, led by Sadeep, turned this holiday into something we'll cherish. Lasantha and his sous chef, Gayan, deserve special mention: he made anything we asked for, and every dish was outstanding. His Sri Lankan curries and fresh seafood were the best food we had on our entire trip, better than any restaurant. Sadeep arranged tuk tuks and excursions with ease, and even waited on the beach to tell us when he spotted turtles. Nothing was too much trouble. Ravi and Nomal were warm, kind, attentive, and always a step ahead, while the whole villa was kept spotless. The team also made a 60th birthday unforgettable with a fairy-light dinner, cocktails by a beach bonfire, and a private firework display. We even played cricket with them on the beach. The Boat House sits on a quiet, uncrowded stretch of beach, with a real sense of peace and privacy. The villa is stunning, elegant inside, and immaculately maintained. We loved the large pool for lazy afternoons in the sun or a cool dip after the beach. From our arrival, we knew we'd found somewhere special. We'll never forget this place or its wonderful team. We loved the house itself: lots of space, lovely bathrooms, and comfortable beds. Its position on a beautiful, quiet beach is perfect, and Hiriketiya, which is livelier, is just a short tuktuk ride away. We ate most meals at the house because the chef's food was so good. Sadeep and the team were excellent hosts who went beyond what we expected. I hope to visit again, and highly recommend it!
