BBQ HUB Ella

The location made it easy to explore Ella, right in the center of this lovely little town. I stayed two days and would book again if I return. The owner was a real gentleman, always around, helpful, and polite, and the staff worked hard to make me comfortable. Breakfast had loads of choices and was incredible. Since I was cold, they even gave me a bag with warm water for the night. Thanks so much for making my stay here incredible ❤️

The food was delicious, with great authentic Sri Lankan flavours, and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. Ashen and the team made sure our stay went smoothly, and everyone was helpful and nice. I highly recommend this place.

Staff were helpful carrying our bags up the stairs, but the location just off Ella’s main street was about the only good thing for us. BBQ Hut felt like a hostel, not a four-star hotel, and didn’t seem family friendly. The rooms were far below standard, with mold in the showers and dirty floors. The booking was misleading: we were quoted one price and charged another, and for what we paid, the stay fell well short of our expectations, especially compared with other places in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was included but disappointing, with cold crepes, French toast, toast, and waffles. After that, we avoided eating here for lunch or dinner.

Great comfort for a fantastic price, and we could walk to everything. The hotel is really close to the main street, with some of the nicest, friendliest staff. The hosts were delightful and helpful, bringing us water and offering complimentary breakfast.
