Nalaka and his family were great hosts. They looked after us, shared local knowledge, and helped with special requests. Our room was clean and spacious, with enough plug points and a small sofa area, and breakfast was tasty and included. Getting around was a real inconvenience, though. Road work on the 500m stretch from the main road to the hotel meant we had to be dropped off far away and carry our luggage along the bumpy path. Nalaka kindly carried one bag, but the walk out was still long each time and might not work for everyone. Our first-floor room's view of Little Adam’s rock was partly blocked by construction in front. It also had no mini fridge or AC, which could be a deal breaker.

The views from the room were fabulous, and breakfast with that view was a big reason we booked. The team are lovely, very friendly, and happy to help. I didn't love the room itself, though. The bathroom smelled quite bad and felt damp. It's a budget hotel, so it might be fine if you don't spend much time in the room. Rain meant we had to take tuk tuks everywhere because the place is away from town, and tuk tuk prices varied hugely. The walk is nice in daylight.

The family put a lot of love into running this place, and that really stands out. Grandma cooks breakfast at home and serves it on the balcony with an amazing view. If you want somewhere quiet away from the loud main street, this could suit you. The rooms aren't the fanciest, but they're clean, have mosquito nets, and the bed is comfortable. Can totally recommend overall.

The host made us feel right at home and was so friendly and helpful. We only spent one night at Different View in Ella, but the clean, nicely decorated room and its terrace were lovely. Breakfast was served outside, with a breathtaking mountain view, and it was absolutely delicious. We even got to watch monkeys in the trees by the neighboring house while we ate. Thanks for everything!

Nalaka was really welcoming and helped me get my stay organised. The room was clean and had a perfect view, and breakfast was delicious. Such a nice place to stay in Ella, I'd definitely recommend it.
