The host family were incredibly generous and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Prasad would often give us a lift into town when we needed one, though it’s worth getting a scooter. It’s about a 10 minute drive from town, so it’s quiet, and there are fireflies all around at night. Ella Mountain Palace is a beautiful, peaceful place surrounded by nature, with an amazing view.

We had a peaceful stay away from busy Ella, with comfy beds and no need for AC because the mountain air was a little cooler. We also didn’t have any mosquitoes. Breakfast was great and plentiful. The balcony looked across all of Ella, an amazing view, and the host was friendly and helped arrange transfers, tuktuks, and activities around Ella. We had three awesome nights here and would happily recommend staying.

The sunsets, birdsong, and chance of spotting deer made this a lovely escape from Ella's crowds. It's a short tuk-tuk ride up the hill through the tea plantations. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, with hot showers, quick WiFi, and beautiful views of Ella Rock. Breakfast was great too. Prassad is a wonderful host, maybe the kindest man in Sri Lanka, and his mum has the sweetest smile. Go for it!

Ella Mountain Palace was such a peaceful place to stay, and waking up to those views was one of our trip highlights. My mother and I had a fantastic time here. Our host was so friendly and helpful. If you're visiting Ella, this place is a must.

Prasad was a kind, helpful host who drove us into Ella several times in his tuk tuk and arranged some amazing dinners at the guesthouse. We loved the view and enjoyed the delicious breakfasts, and the whole stay was really pleasant. It's a great spot away from Ella's crowds. Definitely recommend it!
