Denny was a really attentive host. He even stopped us from getting scammed at a nearby waterfall, and made us breakfast each day with fruit, bread, rice, and tea or coffee. The place is central for town and the restaurants and cafés along the main road, though the road leading to it isn’t very accessible. We usually took the train tracks, which was quicker and easier. The rooms are basic but have what you need. The second bed’s mattress is a bit small, but we slept fine.

The balcony was quiet, and the simple room was clean. It’s very close to the railway station, with kind, helpful people running the place. Breakfast was tasty, with a good variety, including plenty of different pancakes. I’d definitely recommend it.

The family is friendly, the view is beautiful, and breakfast is provided. You can ask to be picked up at the station, which is helpful because it’s a long walk from there. Tuk-tuk drivers charge a lot and don’t want to take the bad road, and Pick me app doesn’t work well in Ella. We found a large cockroach in the mosquito net over the bed. They moved us to a different, cheaper room, but still charged us the higher rate for the room we never used. Check the room before booking or paying.

The owners were very nice, and the room had a good layout with a balcony away from the busy streets. It’s still only a five-minute walk to downtown. The rooms were moldy, though that seems quite normal in Ella.
