Hotel City Grand Ella

The people here made our five-night stay: from the housekeepers to the managers, everyone was so lovely, greeted us with big smiles and helped with everything. Our room was spacious, the bed was really comfortable, and the balcony had a nice view. We loved every minute. Great price, worth every Rupee, and highly recommended.

The staff were clearly trying their best to keep guests satisfied, but the place felt more like a hostel than a real hotel, with very basic facilities. There wasn't even a desk in my room. On arrival they first took me to a tiny, cell-like room, and only showed me the room I'd actually booked after I refused it. That room still lacked basic things: blankets, a mosquito net, bottled water and a desk. It was cold during my stay, and all I had was a ceiling fan, not even a blanket. Breakfast was a letdown too, with cold food and tea, and the fried items seemed to have been cooked in burnt oil. The management seemed focused on cutting costs as much as possible.

Breakfast was the standout for us: delicious, with a generous amount of food to start the day. Hotel City Grand Ella is a solid option in the area, with decent rooms and a lovely view that adds to the stay. I'd recommend it for a comfortable visit and a good breakfast.

The breakfast selection was limited, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. When we checked in, one staff member seemed very drunk and wasn't making sense while talking to visitors, which made the hotel feel unsafe for female visitors. The manager was rude, and the management was very poor. Our room door wouldn't lock, and neither would the bathroom door. We reported both problems, but nobody came to fix them. The electricity also went off many times at night.
