Mountjoy Ella

I arrived at 2 pm and was told to go for a walk until they contacted me when the room was ready. That didn’t happen until 4:15. When I finally got in, there wasn’t even a bed when I first arrived, the room hadn’t been cleaned properly, and the lock worked from outside but not from inside. I was given a bunch of fabric to use as a blanket, which was a first for me. I ended up carrying all my belongings to the lobby. The hotel might be nice once it’s finished, but right now it’s dirty, unfinished, and still under construction. It was really upsetting to be charged a higher price for a stay like this. Go somewhere else.

I spent three nights here and really enjoyed it. The room was spacious, everyone was helpful, and there was a big balcony where I could relax and take in the landscape. I never got tired of waking up to that beautiful view. There are plenty of sights within walking distance, though the walks are moderately strenuous because Ella is mountainous. Still very worth it!

The host was so committed and made delicious breakfasts. The location worked perfectly for me too, in a quiet spot but only a few minutes’ walk from the busy center. And the view is stunning. I really liked the place.

The view is amazing, and the room was clean and well equipped. The water pressure was very low, though, and construction noise was a problem.
